Temperatures this week have been relatively warm for December. Highs in the mid 60’s to low 70’s have made for some great outdoor weather conditions. But a strong cold front is heading our way and temperatures will fall this weekend, especially on Sunday.
Cold Front Expected This Weekend
Friday’s high in and around Lubbock will be in the mid to upper 60’s according to our friends at KAMC. For those getting out and doing some Christmas shopping this weekend, Saturday will be sunny but windy with high temperatures similar to Friday.
Sunday is when the strong cold front is expected to move through. Expect highs in the upper 30’s and 40’s around our area with breezy conditions outside.
Temperatures Will Rebound Quickly
After freezing lows on Sunday and Monday, temperatures are expected to rebound quickly. Monday’s high is predicted to be around 61 and by the middle of the week next week, we could see high temperatures in the low 70’s.
As you can see from the National Weather Service, the chance of rain over the next seven days is pretty much non existent.
At this point, the chances of snow on Christmas in the Lubbock area, isn’t looking very good.
