CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — The Corpus Christi Police Department initiated both an internal and criminal investigation into Officer Travis Haecker after receiving a complaint alleging theft of non-city funds, according to CCPD Senior Officer Antonio Contreras.

Contreras said evidence gathered during the investigation was presented to the Nueces County District Attorney’s Office for review. After evaluating the findings, prosecutors sought and obtained three warrants for Haecker’s arrest, though he has not yet been taken into custody.

“Haecker remains outstanding,” Contreras said.

Police have not released additional details about the alleged theft, including the amount of money involved.

The investigation remains ongoing. 3NEWS will provide updates as more information becomes available.
