Cowboys running back Javonte Williams spent most of Sunday’s first quarter on the sidelines.
After he scored on a 1-yard run early in Sunday’s meeting between the Cowboys and Vikings, Williams was deemed questionable to return with a shoulder injury. Williams was briefly evaluated in the team’s medical tent before he returned to Dallas’ bench.
Williams remained on the sideline as Dallas drove downfield to end the first quarter. Jim Maurer, the Cowboys’ head athletic trainer, spoke briefly to head coach Brian Schottenheimer during a timeout about Williams’ status.
With Williams out, Malik Davis stepped in at running back for Dallas.
