  • December 16, 2025

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KKTV) – The El Paso County Sheriff’s Office (EPSO) said all District 38 Lewis-Palmer schools will be closed Tuesday as deputies investigate a potential threat.

EPSO said deputies received information about the potential threat, which they say involved schools in the Monument area on Tuesday. According to deputies, the threat did not identify a specific school within the school district.

The District 38 School Security Team, School Resource Officers and regional law enforcement are assisting in the investigation. Deputies say multiple interviews have been conducted in connection with the investigation.

According to EPSO, all District 38 Lewis-Palmer schools will be closed Tuesday.

At this time, deputies have not shared specific details regarding the threat.

“School safety is a priority for my Office, and my deputies treat every threat as credible until proven otherwise,” El Paso County Sheriff Joseph Roybal said. “From our dedicated School Resource Officers to our detectives and regional law-enforcement partners, protecting students, educators, and staff remains at the forefront of our mission.”

Deputies are asking anyone who witnesses any suspicious activity to report it to local law enforcement, school administrators, or through Safe2Tell at safe2tell.org or 877-542-7233.
