Bob Stoops announces retirement from Dallas Renegades
Legendary football coach Bob Stoops announced Monday that he will retire as head coach of the United Football League’s Dallas Renegades.
SOONERS THAT SOFTBALL REALLY HEATS UP STARTING THIS WEEKEND IN NORMAN STILLWATER. ONE OTHER STORY, WE CAN GO QUICKLY THROUGH IT, BUT I THINK IT’S PRETTY DARN COOL. BOB STOOPS WON A CHAMPIONSHIP SATURDAY. YOU GOT TO WATCH THE GAME RIGHT HERE ON CHANNEL FIVE. THEY XFL CHAMPIONSHIP. LOOK AT MY MAN BOB HOISTING THE TROPHY. BIG GAME, BOB. IT’S NOT EXACTLY LIKE THE ORANGE BOWL TROPHY IN 2000. NOT EXACTLY THE CRYSTAL FOOTBALL, BUT IT’S THE XFL CHAMPIONSHIP. AND FOR ME, I JUST THINK IT’S PRETTY COOL TO SEE BOB COACHING. AND HE’S STILL PRETTY GOOD. AND IT’S HIS FIRST CHAMPIONSHIP AT THE PROFESSIONAL LEVEL. AND THIS IS PROFESSIONAL FOOTBALL. WINNERS WIN, WINNERS WIN. AND THAT’S ALL HE’S DONE SINCE WE’VE KNOWN HIM AS A COACH ON THE SIDELINES. WE’RE TALKING ABOUT COACHING FOOTBALL. NOT TOO MANY PEOPLE DO IT BETTER THAN BOB STOOPS. HIS TEAM WAS FOUR AND SIX. THIS WASN’T LIKE THIS ALL TIME XFL CHAMPIONSHIP TEAM IN THE FIRST. IT’S THE FIRST YEAR. SO WE DON’T EVEN KNOW WHAT AN ALL TIME XFL TEAM. ABSOLUTELY. BUT THE TEAM THEY WERE PLAYING HAD THE BEST RECORD IN THE LEAGUE. THEY WERE NINE AND ONE. THEY HAD ONLY LOST ONE GAME. AND IT WASN’T TO THIS TEAM. AND SO I THINK IF YOU’RE PAYING ATTENTION TO THE XFL, WHICH MORE PEOPLE MIGHT BE DOING NOW AFTER WATCHING THIS CHAMPIONSHIP AND SEEING THAT PRODUCT ON THE FIELD, I FEEL LIKE YOU MIGHT HAVE HAD SOME DOUBTERS FOR FOR HIS TEAM, BUT THERE WAS NO DOUBT ONCE HE GOT TO THE CHAMPIONSHIP GAME THAT BOB STOOPS IS GOING TO COACH THIS TEAM UP AND GO OUT THERE WITH A GAME PLAN AND GET IT DONE. AND HE DID. STILL BIG GAME, BOB. STILL BGP. IT’S NOT QUITE THE SAME LEVEL, OBVIOUSLY THE XFL, BUT BUT HE CAN STILL COACH HIM UP. HE GOT HIS TEAM TO PLAY AND BELIEVE AND WIN AND IT’S STILL, STILL BIG GAME. BOB AND AGAIN, I JUST THOUGHT IT WAS COOL TO SEE BOB OUT THERE COACHING AND HIS TEAM STILL WIN AND GETTING THE ICE BATHS. YOU KNOW, I DID THAT AT THE ALAMO BOWL, YOU KNOW, A COUPLE OF YEARS AGO AND THEY WERE AT
