Black Musicians Association of Tarrant County will honor legendary musicians of North Texas during their Legends of Gospel Concert in Fort Worth.
Every other year, the organization spotlights its contributions to church music over the course of its long career. In addition to honoring the music legends, scholarships will be awarded to students pursuing degrees in music education.
“Some of our scholarship recipients, right now working in some of our school districts. They are performing professionally, and just making a difference and adding value to our society,” said Troy Edmon, President of the Black Musicians Association of Tarrant County.
The association has given away more than $10,000 in scholarships over the last six concerts, and once again this year, a portion of ticket proceeds for the legends of gospel concert, as well as donations from sponsorships, will go to music education scholarships.
It’s Saturday, Oct. 18th at Carter Metropolitan CME Church in Fort Worth.
4601 Wichita St.
Fort Worth, TX 76119
The door opens at 5 p.m.
Ticket donations are $15.
