Girls’ Basketball
Plano earned a 45-42 overtime win over Woodstock. The Reapers had just three scorers, led by Le’Niya Viser and Jadyn Long with 17 points apiece, while Chloe Rowe added 11 points in the victory. Long also recorded eight steals and 10 rebounds, and Rowe pulled down 16 rebounds.
Hall defeated Somonauk/Leland 61-36. Kiley Mason led the Bobcats with 13 points, followed by Ella Roberts with seven and Abby Hohmann with six.
Dwight topped Serena 59-45. Kendall Whiteaker led the Huskers with 17 points, while Parker Twait and Brynley Glade each scored 12 in the loss.
Mendota defeated IMSA 49-13.
Boys’ Basketball
Hinckley-Big Rock beat Rochelle Zell 59-34. Luke Badal led the Royals with 18 points and six rebounds, while Harry Nier scored 16 points. Marshall Ledbetter added 12 points and six rebounds in the win.
Indian Creek picked up a 78-69 victory over Marengo behind a 19-point performance from Parker Murry. Four other Timberwolves finished in double figures, with Payton Huber scoring 15 points, Logan Schrader adding 14, Jason Brewer contributing 12 and Isaac Willis chipping in 10.
Wilmington defeated Somonauk 56-35. Landon Johnson led the Bobcats with 12 points, followed by Landin Stillwell with 10.
Girls’ Bowling
Plano was swept in all three games by Central High School of Burlington. Emily Dolon led the Reapers with a personal-best high game of 175, while Gracie Busboom posted a 420 series.
Boys’ Bowling
Oswego East defeated Yorkville 3,231-3,090. Aiden Choi led the Wolves with a 733 series, highlighted by a high game of 263. Noel Lopez paced the Foxes with a 648 series, including a high game of 236.

IN CASE YOU MISSED IT
On Dec. 11, Oswego East senior Derek Zahorak, rolled an 808 series against Oswego on the Wolves’ senior night. Zahorak bowled games of 266 and 242 before closing the night with a 300.
MARK YOUR CALENDARS
Oswego High School alumni are invited to a basketball open gym next Tuesday, Dec. 23, at 1 p.m. in the main gym at OHS.
The Communities Versus Cancer event is scheduled for Saturday, Feb. 7, 2026, at Oswego High School. The “Out for Blood” blood drive will run from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. inside the field house. The event will conclude with girls and boys basketball games between Oswego and Yorkville, with the girls game tipping off at 3:30 p.m. followed by the boys game at 5:30 p.m. More information will be released leading up to the event.
