COLLEGE STATION — After interviewing five external candidates, Texas A&M football has selected a familiar face for its next offensive coordinator.

A&M wide receivers coach Holmon Wiggins will assume the role of offensive coordinator, head coach Mike Elko announced Monday. The decision follows last week’s departure of current play-caller Collin Klein, who accepted the head coaching job at Kansas State.

“He’s the only person we offered the position to,” Elko said. “He accepted, so we’re very excited with him leading our offense into the future. He’ll do a phenomenal job, so we’re really excited about that. I think that’s the absolute best thing for Texas A&M football moving forward.”

Before joining the A&M staff, Wiggins had spent five seasons at Alabama, including three seasons as the assistant head coach of the offense.

Wiggins is often praised as an excellent recruiter and is credited with helping bring in transfer portal players KC Concepcion and Mario Craver, both of whom have achieved career-high numbers this season.

“Definitely looking forward to next season,” Craver said when asked about the hire. “That’s always been a goal of his. I am very proud of him.”

While serving as the co-offensive coordinator alongside Klein, Wiggins helped the Aggies rank among the best nationally in several key offensive categories in 2025, including 16th in scoring offense, 20th in total offense and 26th in rushing offense.

“That’s definitely an accomplishment for coach Wiggins,” Concepcion said. “He comes in every day the same way. High energy. He’s going to give it his all. I’m happy for him to finally have that role.”

Both Klein and Wiggins will remain in their current roles throughout the Aggies’ playoff run.
