Emergency crews responded Tuesday morning to San Antonio International Airport after an inbound Delta flight reported a possible odor or fumes inside the cabin, according to the San Antonio Fire Department.

SAFD officials say the initial call came in at 6:44 a.m. and was treated as a standard aircraft emergency. Thirteen SAFD units responded, including four units assigned to the airport.

Once the Delta aircraft landed safely, all off-airport resources were canceled except for one EMS unit.

Fire crews and EMS personnel evaluated five people from the flight who reported not feeling well. None required hospital transport or additional medical treatment, officials said. SAFD crews cleared the scene by 8 a.m.

A spokesperson for the airport said it received three separate medical calls Tuesday morning, one of which involved a Delta flight.

The spokesperson did not have additional information to share about the individuals’ conditions, but did say the aircraft landed safely.

No further details about the flight or the source of the reported odor were immediately released.
