The search for a missing kayaker, last believed to be at Marine Creek Lake in Fort Worth, continues after officials searched the lake late Tuesday night.
The kayaker, who was not identified, was last heard from around 10 a.m. on Monday, when he announced he was going fishing and kayaking in the area of the lake, according to a news release from Fort Worth police. Around 8 p.m., police said they received a missing person report from family and friends who were unable to locate him.
According to police, family members said after several hours without being able to contact him, they pinged his location to be near the 4700 block of TCC Lakeside Drive.
Police said officers found the man’s vehicle parked near a boat ramp at the location, while the department’s helicopter also found an empty kayak on the east side of the lake.

After confirming the man was missing, the Fort Worth Fire Department responded and searched the water. Firefighters continued searching and stopped around 11 p.m. Monday night until the Tarrant Regional Water District arrived and resumed the search into Tuesday morning.
As of Tuesday night, police said search efforts are continuing as the man has yet to be found.
