The search began Monday night when a friend discovered the kayaker’s abandoned truck and kayak at Marine Creek East boat ramp. The friend immediately called 911 to report the concerning find.

Search teams deployed sonar technology throughout Monday, locating personal belongings and a paddle belonging to the missing person. Operations were suspended late that evening due to darkness.

By Tuesday morning, the Texas Game Wardens assumed control of the investigation. This transfer follows standard protocol when significant time passes in missing person cases on waterways.

The Tarrant Regional Water District Law Enforcement Division led initial search efforts. Multiple agencies coordinated resources throughout the multi-day operation at the popular Fort Worth recreation area.

Marine Creek Lake spans approximately 250 acres in northwest Fort Worth. The reservoir serves as both a water source and a recreational destination for area residents.
