Editor’s note: Featured pets may be adopted by the time you inquire, but many more are always waiting to meet you.

At the Humane Society of North Texas, adoption is about changing lives, one match at a time. Learn more about adoptions at HSNT’s Fort Worth and Keller locations, or at off-site adoption events held six days a week at HSNT.org.
The holidays have a way of reminding us what matters most: warmth, connection and the joy of making new memories. At the Humane Society of North Texas, this season brings an extra sense of hope as families open their doors to pets waiting for a chance to belong. With thousands adopted this year, each new match strengthens a ripple of kindness across the community.
This week, two very different personalities are hoping to celebrate the season in a home of their own.
Henley, a petite 7-month-old schnauzer mix, has a softness made for winter afternoon cuddles. She stays close, offers gentle companionship and brings a steady presence to everyone around her. Henley loves walks, warm blankets and people who appreciate a quiet but loyal friend. Her sweet nature makes her the perfect match for anyone looking to slow down and savor the simple comforts of the holiday season.
Fabulous Freddy, a 2-month-old retriever mix, brings the opposite kind of cheer. Freddy is pure delight, a burst of puppy joy defined by cuddles, wiggles and irresistible expressions. His foster calls him “world-class” in affection, and it shows. Freddy has all the enthusiasm and hope that makes pets such meaningful family additions during the holidays. He is playful, food-motivated and ready to grow with anyone looking for a loyal best friend from day one.
Henley and Fabulous Freddy represent the heart of the Humane Society of North Texas’ mission: giving pets the chance to start over. This season is the perfect moment to bring home a companion who will carry that joy into the new year.
