A little over 24 hours before Texas A&M (11-1, 7-1 SEC) hosts Miami (10-2) in the first round of the College Football Playoff, the Aggie media team, which released a tease of the uniform Texas A&M will wear, maroon jerseys, while an updated video on Thursday night provided a glimpse at the full uniform, which will rival Miami’s regular white road look.

According to the video, Texas A&M will enter Kyle Field on Saturday wearing maroon helmets, maroon jerseys, and white pants, which is the standard home look. The only exception was the blackout look against Mississippi State earlier this season, which resulted in a 31-9 win over the Bulldogs.

However, the Aggies tricked all of us earlier this week after hinting at a potential blackout, which would have been a first for an early 11:00 a.m. kickoff. Still, whatever the Aggies wear isn’t going to magically help this team get past the Hurricanes, who will field one of the best defenses in the country, and one of the more electrifying playmakers in freshman wide receiver Malachi Toney.

Head coach Mike Elko is hoping that playing at home three weeks after losing to Texas on the road to end the regular season is the recipe for success, paired with a solid week of practice. The news is that star running back Le’Veon Moss, who has missed the last six games due to an ankle injury, is “questionable” to play on Saturday. At the same time, senior linebacker Scooby Williams and safety Bryce Anderson are “probable” with 75% chance to take the field.

Either way, Texas A&M’s best path to facing Ohio State in the Cotton Bowl is for starting quarterback Marcel Reed to play at an elite level, both in the pocket and with his legs, against a Miami defensive line led by Rueben Bain, who is looking to ruin the Aggies’ offensive game plan.
