Several businesses in northeast Dallas were burglarized early Thursday morning in what owners believe may have been a coordinated smash-and-grab spree, according to surveillance footage and reporting by FOX 4.

Surveillance video from Mario Bros Tacos on Abrams Road shows a man repeatedly throwing a rock at the restaurant’s front door until the glass shattered, allowing him to enter. The break-in occurred during the early morning hours.

Mario Moya, the restaurant’s owner, said the suspect stole between $300 and $400 from the opening cash drawer and employee tips. He said the most significant loss came from damage to the business’s front door and window.

Moya said he was alerted to the burglary by his security company and noted the incident brought back memories of a similar break-in at his business in 2023.

A second break-in occurred minutes later at Primos Brothers Pizza near the intersection of Forest Lane and Abrams Road. Surveillance footage from that business also appears to show the same suspect using a rock to break the front glass and gain entry.

The owner of Primos Brothers Pizza, who declined to appear on camera, said the suspect stole money from a tip jar. The rock used to break the glass was later placed inside the jar.

Moya said at least two other nearby businesses may have been targeted around the same time, though police have not confirmed whether the incidents are officially linked.

Dallas police said the burglaries remain under investigation. Authorities have not identified a suspect or released additional details.
