On Saturday, Dallas police officers fatally shot a murder suspect in Mesquite. Here’s what we know so far.
The Dallas Police Department posted on X at about 1 p.m. on Saturday that an “officer-involved shooting” incident occurred near Town East Boulevard and the Lyndon B. Johnson Freeway.
Traffic stop turned into an armed encounter
The department said on the X post that officers were trying to make a traffic stop, which led to an armed confrontation.
PIO and commanders are en route to an officer-involved shooting near Town East Blvd and LBJ Freeway in Mesquite.
Officers involved are not injured.

The suspect died following the encounter, according to the authorities. Police did not identify the suspect.
