Comedian Gabriel “Fluffy” Iglesias is once again trying to keep San Antonio families fed.

The standup comic, who’s beloved in the Alamo City, will perform a Christmas Day show at the Tobin Center supporting the San Antonio Food Bank, according to details shared by the nonprofit.

Fans can gain entry to Fluffy’s Christmas Comedy Show at the Tobin’s H-E-B Performance Hall by donating 10 canned food items per person at the San Antonio Food Bank from noon-3 p.m. Dec. 25. The organization is located at 5200 Historic Old Highway 90 West.

Those who donate will receive a wristband allowing admission to the show, which will take place at 7:30 p.m. that day. Doors will open at 6:30 p.m.

The Tobin won’t be distributing any wristbands, and seating is on a first-come, first-served basis. Fans can begin lining up at the venue once they receive a wristband.

The Christmas show is a larger-scale version of a benefit concert Iglesias staged in November at San Antonio’s Laugh Out Loud Comedy Club. That show, also free for fans who brought canned goods, brought in a record 16,000 pounds of donations for the Food Bank.

Iglesias arranged the November performance as the Trump administration refused to distribute emergency Supplemental Nutritional Assistance Program (SNAP) funds to families in need amid the government shutdown. In Texas alone, 3.5 million people — half of them children — rely on the program.

More information on the show is available online.

10 cans of food (see details in story), 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 25, Tobin Center H-E-B Performance Hall, 100 Auditorium Circle, (210) 223-8624, tobincenter.org.
