Steps from downtown, the new 62-unit development brings residents closer to transit and work
A new housing option has opened in Plano, designed to serve the city’s workforce population while keeping affordability front and center. The Park on 14th, a 62-unit apartment community, is the result of a partnership between the Texas State Affordable Housing Corporation (TSAHC) and DMA Companies.

Housing For The Workforce
According to the official statement, most of the apartments are reserved for households earning up to 80 percent of the area median income. The design emphasizes energy efficiency, with HVAC and mechanical systems aimed at lowering utility bills for residents.
“This community reflects two of our priorities — creating affordable, quality housing in high opportunity areas and working with strong partners,” said David Long, president of TSAHC, in the statement. “I’m proud to say the Park on 14th accomplishes both.”
The $17.2 million project was financed primarily through a loan from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development and equity from TSAHC. TSAHC owns the land, while DMA Companies developed the community.

Meeting A Community Need
DMA Companies said the development is designed with working families in mind. “We take pride in meeting the housing needs of our workforce, and that’s why we were excited to develop this community,” said Janine Sisak, senior vice president of DMA Companies. “The Park on 14th provides an ideal place to live affordably, especially for those who work in or near downtown and want to enjoy everything the City of Plano has to offer.”
