1. 3,000 Waymos recalled after several close calls with Austin ISD students
The self-driving taxi known as Waymo is taking a break in Austin. Since the beginning of the 2025-2026 school year, Austin Independent School District (AISD) has recorded at least 20 stop-arm violations committed by the autonomous vehicles.
Cameras installed on school buses through the district’s Stop-Arm Camera Program show Waymo vehicles passing buses when they brake and have their stop arm extended. In some instances, the self-driving vehicles come close to hitting students getting off the bus.
The Frisco community is grieving after two triathletes were killed just days before Christmas. Now, a local group is giving back in their honor.
Andre Kocher and Scott Mages were hit by a driver and killed during a ride with the Frisco Triathlon Club on Saturday, Dec. 20. The club created a GoFundMe fundraiser in Kocher and Mages’ honor to raise money for the League of American Bicyclists, a nonprofit that supports safer roads for cyclists through advocacy and education.
3. Texas A&M volleyball wins national championship with sweep of Kentucky
Logan Lednicky had 11 kills, Maddie Waak had 29 assists and Texas A&M won its first NCAA volleyball championship, sweeping Kentucky 3-0 on Sunday.
The Aggies (29-4) accomplished the rare feat of defeating three No. 1 seeds. They defeated Nebraska and Pittsburgh earlier in the tournament. They did not drop a set in the Final Four.

Ministry helps Kerrville celebrate Christmas after the floods
This is the first Christmas season since the Fourth of July floods for families in Kerr County. A North Texas ministry has returned to Kerrville just in time for the holidays, and hundreds of kids in Kerr County will have gifts Christmas morning thanks to Texans spreading holiday cheer.
