Pilot Point police are investigating the deaths of two bicyclists who were fatally struck by a vehicle Saturday morning.
Police said they began receiving several calls around 8:19 a.m. about two men on bicycles who had been hit by a vehicle on FM 455 East, just east of Fritcher Road.
The men, identified as Andre Kocher and Scott Mages, were on a group ride with the Frisco Triathlon Club, according to a social media post shared by the group.
When first responders and officers arrived at the scene, life-saving efforts were made for both bicyclists. The two men were taken to hospitals where they both died, police said.

Investigations determined the driver of the vehicle continued driving for a short distance but quickly returned to the scene, police said. The driver has been cooperative with the investigation, police said.
Investigators did not immediately say if they planned to pursue charges against the driver.
Kocher and Mages were strong athletes, friends to many and a joy to be around, the triathlon club said in a social media post about the incident.
“Words feel inadequate in moments like this, but we want our members to know how deeply saddened we are and how heavy our hearts are tonight,” the club said in the post. “Scott and Andre were much more than … fellow triathletes — they were part of our community.”
The triathlon club has created a GoFundMe to commemorate Kocher’s and Mages’ love for triathlons and continue the encouragement and support they showed for others in the sport.
Money raised will go toward the League of American Bicyclists, a nonprofit dedicated to improving bicycling safety, advocacy and education, according to the GoFundMe.
“This fund is not about tragedy alone, but about legacy. It is about turning our grief into action and helping protect others who share the road — so fewer families and communities have to experience this kind of loss,” the club said in the GoFundMe.
