1. Tesla CEO Elon Musk recovers $55 billion pay package in Delaware court ruling

Elon Musk, already the world’s richest man, scored another huge windfall Friday when the Delaware Supreme Court reversed a decision that deprived him of a $55 billion pay package that Tesla doled out in 2018 as an incentive for its CEO to steer the automaker to new heights.

2. Combat training is a rite of passage for police recruits. It’s left a trail of deaths and injuries

So-called RedMan training drills are intended to teach law enforcement recruits how to defend themselves against combative suspects. They’re among the most challenging tests at police academies. Law enforcement experts say that when properly designed and supervised, they teach new officers critical skills for handling high-stress situations.

But critics say they can put recruits at risk of physical and mental abuse that runs some promising officers out of the profession.

3. College student deported during Thanksgiving travel describes ICE officer’s intimidation

A Massachusetts college student who was deported while trying to visit family for Thanksgiving said an immigration officer told her it wouldn’t matter if she spoke to a lawyer; she was going to be removed from the country anyway.

Holiday travel season in Texas underway

Last year, in the days leading up to Christmas, just under 357,000 people were screened by the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) at Austin-Bergstrom International Airport. Up north, Dallas Fort Worth International Airport expects its busiest travel days at the start and near the end of the season; over 265,000 passengers were expected on Friday, Dec. 19 and Sunday, Dec. 28.
