The previous record for todays date was 76\u00b0 set back in 1955. <\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"figure-img img-fluid mx-auto d-block\" alt=\"KCBD\" loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-tx\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/12\/YLY7BB2NP5DO3J2PLLJGD2PRDM.PNG\" width=\"980\" height=\"558\" \/>KCBD(KCBD)<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">The new record surpasses the previous monthly high of 85\u00b0 set just three days earlier on December 22. Temperatures will drop noticeably Monday, with the South Plains experiencing cooler conditions heading into the new week.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">A slim chance for light snow is possible over the southwest South Plains Monday as colder air settles in.<\/p>\n<p>Temperatures rebound before New Year\u2019s<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">Milder conditions will return for Tuesday and New Year\u2019s Eve, with temperatures warming back up before the calendar turns to 2026.
