Ralph Rodriguez wins Schertz Mayoral race, unofficial voting results show<\/p>\n<p>There&#8217;s a new mayor in town.<\/p>\n<p>According to unofficial voting results from Comal, Guadalupe and Bexar counties Nov. 4, Ralph Rodriguez garnered 50.95% of votes, or 2,839 votes. Incumbent Ralph Gutierrez received 49.05% of votes, or 2,733 votes.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/communityimpact.com\/san-antonio\/northeast-san-antonio-metrocom\/election\/2025\/11\/05\/ralph-rodriguez-wins-schertz-mayoral-race-unofficial-voting-results-show\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Read the full story by Editor Amira Van Leeuwen.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>2. Kara Latimer elected as new Cibolo mayor, unofficial voting results show<\/p>\n<p>Kara Latimer will be Cibolo&#8217;s new mayor, according to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.guadalupetx.gov\/upload\/page\/0350\/docs\/2025-11-4\/Unofficial%20Results%2038%20of%2038%20Reporting.pdf\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">unofficial voting results<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>With all precincts reporting Nov. 4, Latimer has received 2,588 votes, or 58.74% of votes. FM 1103 construction in Schertz, Cibolo resumes<\/p>\n<p>Construction on FM 1103 in Schertz and Cibolo resumed Jan. 21, according to a news release.<\/p>\n<p>The project had been paused since July 2023 due to construction conflicts with utilities and telecommunication lines, according to <a href=\"https:\/\/communityimpact.com\/san-antonio\/northeast-san-antonio-metrocom\/transportation\/2023\/07\/27\/fm-1103-work-comes-to-standstill-amid-utility-telecommunications-conflicts\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">previous reporting<\/a> by Community Impact.<\/p>\n<p>The full project will include the expansion of FM 1103 from a two-lane road to a four-lane road with bicycle lanes and sidewalks.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/communityimpact.com\/san-antonio\/northeast-san-antonio-metrocom\/transportation\/2025\/01\/14\/fm-1103-construction-in-schertz-cibolo-to-resume-jan-21\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Read the full story by Reporter Jarrett Whitener.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>4. Cibolo approves $32.5M incentive for Fortune 500 company<\/p>\n<p>The city of Cibolo is in the final stages of potentially landing a major economic driver.<\/p>\n<p>In October, Cibolo City Council designated a 126-acre tract of land at 3641 Santa Clara Road as Reinvestment Zone No. 2 for a proposed distribution center project by a Fortune 500 company\u2014dubbed Project Theo.<\/p>\n<p>The distribution center project would use advanced robotics and other high-tech equipment. SCUCISD tax rate proposition fails, according to unofficial totals<\/p>\n<p>By a slim margin, the tax rate election, Proposition A, proposed by Schertz-Cibolo-Universal City ISD has failed to pass.<\/p>\n<p>According to unofficial results from Guadalupe and Bexar counties, SCUCISD&#8217;s Proposition A has 5,896 votes for a tax rate increase, or 49.76%, with 5,954 votes or 50.24% against the increase.<\/p>\n<p>The district officially called for the tax rate election Aug. 18. If successful, the district\u2019s tax rate would have increased the tax rate $0.06 per $100 valuation to $1.1969 per $100.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/communityimpact.com\/san-antonio\/northeast-san-antonio-metrocom\/election\/2025\/11\/05\/scucisd-tax-rate-proposition-fails-according-to-unofficial-totals\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Read the full story by Reporter Thomas Leffler.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>6. Cibolo City Council terminates city attorney, appoints interim firm<\/p>\n<p>Cibolo City Council voted to terminate its city attorney, George Hyde with <a href=\"https:\/\/txlocalgovlaw.com\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Hyde Kelley LLP<\/a>, during a March 11 City Council meeting.<\/p>\n<p>During a <a href=\"https:\/\/horizon.agendalink.app\/player\/cibolotx\/679bb368b7ce9a0054f1bf6c\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Feb. 11<\/a> City Council meeting a motion to remove and terminate Hyde failed in a split vote. Judson ISD board approves two new principals for 2025-26 school year<\/p>\n<p>The Judson ISD\u2019s board of trustees approved two new principals for the 2025-26 school year on May 15.<\/p>\n<p>Lakisha Valentine is the new principal at <a href=\"https:\/\/hartman.judsonisd.org\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Hartman Elementary School<\/a> and Ebonisha Davis took the principal role at <a href=\"https:\/\/metzger.judsonisd.org\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Metzger Middle School<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/millerspoint.judsonisd.org\/about-us\/administration\/assistant-principal\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Valentine<\/a> took over as Hartman principal from Monica Rodriguez after spending five years in Judson ISD.<\/p>\n<p>Davis has served in a number of roles at <a href=\"https:\/\/wagner.judsonisd.org\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Wagner High School<\/a>, including a position as associate principal.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/communityimpact.com\/san-antonio\/northeast-san-antonio-metrocom\/education\/2025\/06\/13\/judson-isd-board-approves-two-new-principals-for-2025-26-school-year\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Read the full story by Reporter Thomas Leffler.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>8.
