It appears Dallas Mavericks forward Anthony Davis<\/a> will be out of the lineup for a few games.<\/p>\n

Davis sustained a minor groin strain in the Mavericks\u2019 Christmas Day loss to the Warriors<\/a>, a person familiar with the injury told The Dallas Morning News. <\/p>\n

There is no timetable for his return, but Davis will work out daily in an effort to play within the next few days, a person familiar with the injury told The News. <\/p>\n

#Mavs<\/a> forward Anthony Davis sustained a minor right groin strain in yesterday\u2019s Christmas Day loss to the #Warriors<\/a>, a person familiar with the injury confirmed.<\/p>\n

There\u2019s no definitive timetable for his return, but he will continue to workout daily in an effort to play within the\u2026<\/p>\n

When running on a fast break in the second quarter Thusday, Davis suddenly stopped and appeared to be grabbing at his groin as a pass from Naji Marshall sailed out of bounds. Davis, grimacing in pain, walked straight to the Dallas bench and was assessed by the team\u2019s training staff during the timeout before limping to the locker room.<\/p>\n

He did not return to the bench and was ruled out at the beginning of the second half because of right groin spasms<\/a>. Mavericks coach Jason Kidd did not provide an update on Davis after the game.<\/p>\n

Prior to Thursday\u2019s game, Davis was coming off two straight games of scoring over 30 points. He had 31 points, nine rebounds, four assists and three steals in the Mavs\u2019 win over Denver on Tuesday<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Davis missed significant time with groin and abdomen injuries last season and has played in just 16 of Dallas\u2019 32 games so far this season<\/a>. In those appearances, he\u2019s averaging 20.5 points, 10.9 rebounds, 2.8 assists and 1.6 blocks.<\/p>\n
