{"id":10232,"date":"2025-10-18T21:31:10","date_gmt":"2025-10-18T21:31:10","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-tx\/10232\/"},"modified":"2025-10-18T21:31:10","modified_gmt":"2025-10-18T21:31:10","slug":"scrtd-boosts-sunland-park-downtown-el-paso-bus-route-frequency","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-tx\/10232\/","title":{"rendered":"SCRTD boosts Sunland Park, Downtown El Paso bus route frequency"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">EL PASO, Texas (<a href=\"http:\/\/www.ktsm.com\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" data-ylk=\"slk:KTSM;elm:context_link;itc:0;sec:content-canvas\" class=\"link \">KTSM<\/a>) \u2014 The South Central Regional Transit District (SCRTD) announced a service frequency improvement that will help riders who are traveling to and from Sunland Park and Downtown El Paso.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">SCRTD provides transportation throughout Southern New Mexico, including rides up from Truth or Consequences down to El Paso.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.ktsm.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/38\/2025\/10\/SCRTD-SYSTEM-MAP-2024-1.pdf\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" data-ylk=\"slk:SCRTD-SYSTEM-MAP-2024-1;elm:context_link;itc:0;sec:content-canvas\" class=\"link \">SCRTD-SYSTEM-MAP-2024-1<\/a><a class=\"link \" href=\"https:\/\/www.ktsm.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/38\/2025\/10\/SCRTD-SYSTEM-MAP-2024-1.pdf\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" data-ylk=\"slk:Download;elm:context_link;itc:0;sec:content-canvas\">Download<\/a><\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">The Yellow Route, taking passengers to Sunland Park and Downtown El Paso, will start operating every 40 minutes, offering more flexibility, shorter wait times, and easier access to employment, healthcare and shopping destinations, according to the news release by the SCRTD.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">\u201cThis expansion reflects our continued commitment to providing reliable and convenient public transportation for residents of Southern New Mexico,\u201d Executive Director of SCRTD David Armijo said. \u201cIncreasing service frequency on one of our busiest routes strengthens our connection to EL Paso and supports the growing ridership across the region.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">In addition to the changes with the Yellow Route, SCRTD said they are also expanding the Turquoise Route hours, launching a new Magenta Route for East Mesa, and making ongoing investments in electric buses and solar power facilities.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">According to SCRTD, the Yellow Route stop will soon be relocated closer to the Downtown El Paso Transit Terminal, as part of the partnership with Sun Metro to improve passenger safety and efficient transfers.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">\u201cWith a record 164,700 trips in FY2025, SCRTD continues to build on its mission of connecting communities through sustainable, affordable and equitable transportation options,\u201d read the news release.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">For more information, you can visit SCRTD\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/scrtd.org\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" data-ylk=\"slk:website;elm:context_link;itc:0;sec:content-canvas\" class=\"link \">website<\/a>, or you can call (575) 323-1620.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">Copyright 2025 Nexstar Media, Inc.
