SAN ANTONIO \u2013 Judge Michele Garcia, Bexar County justice of the peace for Precinct 4, has died, county officials said Saturday morning.<\/p>\n
Precinct 4 Commissioner Tommy Calvert shared the news on Facebook, along with other leaders sharing tributes to Garcia.<\/p>\n
\u201cHer legacy of service, compassion, and resilience will never be forgotten,\u201d Precinct 4 Constable Kat Brown said on social media. \u201cHeaven has surely gained a beautiful and courageous angel.\u201d<\/p>\n
In the post, Calvert said he asked for the precinct\u2019s office flag to be flown at half-staff for nine days in Garcia\u2019s honor.<\/p>\n
According to posts by Brown and Bexar County Clerk Lucy Adame-Clark, Garcia\u2019s death came after a battle with cancer.<\/p>\n
\u201cShe fought her battle with cancer with remarkable strength, grace, and courage,\u201d Brown said, \u201cinspiring so many along the way.\u201d<\/p>\n
Garcia was elected in 2022, with one year remaining on her term. She did not file for reelection.<\/p>\n
KSAT 12 has reached out to Bexar County leaders for more information and comment on Garcia\u2019s death.<\/p>\n
