Charles Barkley is officially out on Nico Harrison\u2019s vision for the Dallas Mavericks<\/a>.<\/p>\n

On ESPN\u2019s Christmas Day broadcast, Barkley and the rest of the Inside the NBA crew were discussing the state of the Mavericks. Barkley thinks it\u2019s time for Dallas to move in another direction.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhat are the Mavs gonna do?\u201d he asked. \u201cThey\u2019re in trouble now, because it\u2019s clear to me that Anthony Davis, as much as we like him and love him as a player, he\u2019s never gonna be healthy.<\/p>\n

\u201cThey gotta make a decision.\u201d<\/p>\n

When Kenny Smith asked Barkley what he\u2019d do with Davis if he was Dallas, he gave a pointed response and turned his attention to rookie sensation Cooper Flagg<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\u201cI think I might move on,\u201d he said. \u201cIf I was running the team, I\u2019d say, \u2018You know what? It\u2019s Cooper\u2019s team now.\u201d<\/p>\n

The next offer Mavs get on Anthony Davis (injured again) is the one they should take. Basically doesn\u2019t matter what it is, you will never get 25 cents on the dollar for his talent. https:\/\/t.co\/B0xRXyLZwq<\/a><\/p>\n

Ironically, this conversation came before Davis exited the Mavericks\u2019 Christmas Day game against the Warriors with what the team called right groin spasms. A year to the date that Luka Doncic suffered a calf injury in what was ultimately his final game as a Maverick, Davis suffered his own Christmas Day injury<\/a>.<\/p>\n

When the Inside the NBA broadcast was later showing highlights of Dallas\u2019 126-116 loss to Golden State<\/a>, including video of Davis leaving the game, Barkley joked about Harrison\u2019s failed tenure in Dallas.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis is bad, man,\u201d he said<\/a>. \u201cAlready got my boy fired. Love you Nico, Merry Christmas.\u201d<\/p>\n

For as much a failure as Harrison\u2019s famed Doncic-Davis trade has turned out to be, the Mavericks luckily landed Flagg in the draft lottery. With Flagg\u2019s rapid ascension to stardom in his rookie season, Barkley believes Dallas has its long-term centerpiece to build on, and it\u2019s not Davis.<\/p>\n
