According to a new report from The New York Times, the Houston area actually leads the entire nation in \u201cat-large\u201d ICE arrests, with over 5,000 arrests between January 20 and October 15 of this year.<\/p>\n
This isn\u2019t really surprising when you realize how appealing Houston is to illegal aliens. Jared Woodfill with Conservative Republicans of Texas explained: \u201cLook at how large it is, the proximity to the border, and the fact that we have a huge port. It\u2019s just real easy for folks to blend in and think that they won\u2019t be caught.\u201d<\/p>\n
Woodfill went on to say that despite the left-wing outrage about the work ICE is doing here in the nation\u2019s fourth-largest city, it\u2019s actually great news. According to Woodfill, these ICE arrests should result in everything from crime falling in the city to even our infamously terrible traffic lightening up.<\/p>\n
