Most of the outages were in Central Houston as well as the northern part of the city.<\/p>\n<p>CenterPoint, which supplies power to much of the region, indicated in a Monday morning <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/CenterPoint_TX\/status\/2005615615097135317\" rel=\"nofollow\">social media post<\/a> that the outages were tied to gusty winds.<\/p>\n<p>Sign up for the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.houstonpublicmedia.org\/hellohouston\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Hello, Houston!<\/a> daily newsletter to get local reports like this delivered directly to your inbox.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOur crews are responding and working safely to restore power as quickly as possible,\u201d the utility company wrote in its post. \u201cPlease stay alert and report any downed lines immediately to 713-207-2222, never approach them.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>After a warm weekend, temperatures dipped into the low 50s on Monday morning. Temperatures are expected to remain in the low 50s throughout the day, according to the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.weather.gov\/hgx\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">National Weather Service<\/a>, which forecasts a Monday night low of 39 degrees.<\/p>\n<p>Gusty conditions also are expected to persist as a wind advisory is in effect for parts of the region until 6 p.m. Monday. North winds between 15-20 mph are in the forecast for Monday, with gusts up to 30 mph.<\/p>\n<p>Tuesday\u2019s forecast calls for a high of 54 degrees with winds between 5-10 mph. Temperatures are expected to warm up again Wednesday, with a forecasted high near 63.
