A FarmHope workshop will take place on Jan. 12 from noon to 3 p.m. at the Texas A&M AgriLife Research and Extension Center at Lubbock<\/a>, 1102 E Farm-to-Market Road 1294, in Lubbock.<\/p>\n

FarmHope<\/a> is a collaborative effort of the\u00a0Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service<\/a>\u00a0and the\u00a0Texas A&M Health<\/a>\u00a0Telehealth Institute<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Participants are asked to preregister online<\/a>. The free training begins with sign-in at 11:30 a.m. and runs through 3 p.m. Lunch will be sponsored by the Texas Corn Producers and the National Agricultural Law Center.<\/p>\n

The program is designed to help participants create farm and ranch estate and financial plans, as well as address how to cope with the unique agricultural stressors.<\/p>\n

\u201cHaving these plans in place will help to ensure the success and well-being of the next generation who will take over the farm,\u201d said event organizer Tiffany Lashmet, J.D., AgriLife Extension agricultural law specialist and professor, Texas A&M\u00a0Department of Agricultural Economics<\/a>, Amarillo.<\/p>\n

On the program<\/p>\n

The workshop will include four sessions:<\/p>\n

Basic estate planning, Lashmet.<\/p>\n

Mental health and agriculture, \u00a0Miquela Smith, AgriLife Extension health program specialist in the\u00a0Disaster Assessment and Recovery<\/a>\u00a0unit, Lubbock.<\/p>\n

Financial planning, Kyler Billingsley, Capital Farm Credit, Lubbock.<\/p>\n

FarmHope services \u2013 Mikaela Spooner, Ph.D., psychologist and clinician at the Texas A&M Telehealth Institute.<\/p>\n
