The Tony The Tiger Sun Bowl<\/a> and the city of El Paso will continue to receive national attention for, (at least), the next 5 years thanks to a\u00a0new contract with CBS <\/a>that ensures coverage through 2030.\u00a0CBS has aired the Sun Bowl every year since 1969<\/a>.<\/p>\n The Sun Bowl<\/a> is the 2nd, longest running bowl game of them all having been played 92 over the last 93 years. The one missed year was during the COVID 19 pandemic.<\/p>\n Recent history has seen national coverage of college bowl games dip but the new deal with CBS, first\u00a0announced last year<\/a>, will keep the Sun Bowl and the city of El Paso on fans minds nationwide a while longer.<\/p>\n However, earlier this year, the Sun Bowl announced\u00a0a renewed broadcast partnership with CBS, securing national television exposure through 2030. At a time when some bowl games have disappeared or moved off major networks, the agreement provides a measure of continuity. – elpasomatters<\/a><\/p>\n When Was The First Sun Bowl Game?<\/p>\n The very first Sun Bowl was played in 1935 between 2 high schools<\/a>, the El Paso All Stars, (made up of players from\u00a0El Paso, Bowie, Austin and Cathedral high schools took on the Ranger, Texas, Bulldogs. I’m not looking at odds or records, just going with my gut here when I say I think the SUN Devils will win.
