{"id":104316,"date":"2025-12-30T00:23:07","date_gmt":"2025-12-30T00:23:07","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-tx\/104316\/"},"modified":"2025-12-30T00:23:07","modified_gmt":"2025-12-30T00:23:07","slug":"faa-investigating-after-2-departing-flights-at-bush-airport-nearly-collide","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-tx\/104316\/","title":{"rendered":"FAA investigating after 2 departing flights at Bush Airport nearly collide"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"dist__Box-sc-1fnzlkn-0 dist__TextBase-sc-1fnzlkn-3 bYFsJw cuqaEv article-text\">HOUSTON \u2013 The Federal Aviation Administration is investigating a near collision involving two departing flights at Houston\u2019s Bush Intercontinental Airport earlier this month.<\/p>\n<p class=\"dist__Box-sc-1fnzlkn-0 dist__TextBase-sc-1fnzlkn-3 bYFsJw cuqaEv article-text\">According to the FAA, the incident happened around 3:05 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 18, and involved Volaris El Salvador Flight 4321, which was headed to San Salvador, and United Express Flight 4814, which was flying to Jackson, Mississippi.<\/p>\n<p class=\"dist__Box-sc-1fnzlkn-0 dist__TextBase-sc-1fnzlkn-3 bYFsJw cuqaEv article-text\">In a statement, the FAA said air traffic control instructed Volaris Flight 4321 to turn left after departing Bush Intercontinental. The aircraft instead turned right, placing it on a path toward the United Express flight, which had departed from a parallel runway.<\/p>\n<p class=\"dist__Box-sc-1fnzlkn-0 dist__TextBase-sc-1fnzlkn-3 bYFsJw cuqaEv article-text\">\u201cThis information is preliminary and subject to change,\u201d the FAA said. \u201cThe FAA is investigating the event.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"dist__Box-sc-1fnzlkn-0 dist__TextBase-sc-1fnzlkn-3 bYFsJw cuqaEv article-text\">The planes did not collide.<\/p>\n<p class=\"dist__Box-sc-1fnzlkn-0 dist__TextBase-sc-1fnzlkn-3 bYFsJw cuqaEv article-text\">United Express Flight 4814 was operated by CommuteAir.
