A 44-year-old has been identified as the woman killed in a murder-suicide shooting<\/a> in Grand Prairie<\/a> that police said also left her husband dead and the couple\u2019s son injured.<\/p>\n

Soukdavanh Thidavanh, 44, was found dead inside a home in the 1600 block of Avenue B around 1:50 a.m. Monday as officers investigated a family violence<\/a> call, according to the Dallas County medical examiner\u2019s office and Grand Prairie police.<\/p>\n

Police said they first arrived in the neighborhood around 10 p.m. Sunday after a man reported that his father shot him in the face after he intervened in a fight between his parents. The son fled to a neighbor\u2019s home and called 911, police said.<\/p>\n

Officers were unable to get in contact with the suspect once they arrived at the home. <\/p>\n

Knowing a woman was inside the home, police said officers forced open the front door and were met with gunfire from a rifle. As officers returned fire, police said the man fled further into the home.<\/p>\n

The man, who has yet to be identified, was later found dead inside the home\u2019s bathroom from a self-inflicted gunshot wound, according to police.<\/p>\n

Thidavanh was found in a bedroom shot multiple times and pronounced dead at the scene.<\/p>\n

The son was transported to a hospital for treatment and is expected to survive, police said.<\/p>\n

An officer suffered minor injuries after they were struck by ricochet gunfire, police said. The officer was taken to a hospital for treatment. No other officers were injured in the incident, police said.<\/p>\n
