CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas \u2014 Over two decades ago, 15-year-old Christian Hall boarded the yacht Gypsy II\u00a0in Flour Bluff, bound for Florida. The vessel issued a distress call near the Louisiana coast, but when another boater responded, the captain declined help \u2014 and Hall, the captain and the boat were never seen again.<\/p>\n

In the fall of 2005, Hall was working as a deckhand on a 74-foot boat called the GYPSY II and left with the vessel\u2019s captain, 39-year-old David \u201cDusty\u201d Andrews.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Hall asked his parents to go on a fishing trip to Florida with Andrews. They told him no. He went anyway.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Investigators said that after the pair departed, a mayday signal was reported from the GYPSY II about 65 miles south of the Louisiana coast in the Gulf of Mexico. A boater responded to the distress call but was waved away by Andrews, according to investigators.<\/p>\n

Neither Hall, Andrews, nor the GYPSY II has been seen since.<\/p>\n

The National Center for Missing & Exploited Children has released a new age-progressed image showing what Hall could look like at 35 years old in hopes of generating new leads.<\/p>\n

Hall\u2019s aunt, Carla Boehm, told writer Halley Gillespie\u00a0<\/a>that she believes Hall could still be alive and hopes renewed attention will bring answers.<\/p>\n

\u201cIf he thinks nobody cares, maybe he’s not even trying to come home,\u201d Boehm said.<\/p>\n

Boehm said Hall was adventurous and may have been excited about starting a new journey. She said she believes Hall may have grown attached to Andrews while working on the boat and viewed him as a father figure.<\/p>\n

According to Hall’s relatives, Andrews sometimes claimed that Hall was his son, but relatives said this was not true.<\/p>\n

\u201cI hope he’s out there, and that he sees this new picture and realizes people are looking for him, and that he’s wanted,\u201d Boehm said.<\/p>\n
