ARANSAS PASS, Texas \u2014 A new year is bringing a fresh new look to the City of Aransas Pass.<\/p>\n

Drivers entering the city will soon be greeted by a bright, colorful welcome sign designed to showcase community pride and make a strong first impression. The lettering for the new \u201cAransas Pass\u201d sign has been three years in the making, and officials say it will be easy to spot.<\/p>\n

Rosemary Vega, CEO of the Aransas Pass Chamber of Commerce, says the sign represents more than just a new design \u2014 it\u2019s a statement about the city itself.\u00a0<\/p>\n

She says, \u201cWe are in the heart of the Coastal Bend. We are very proud of our community, our city. We want to make a statement that we are here and ready to accept visitors, and we welcome them. This is just going to be the start of that.\u201d<\/p>\n

City leaders hope both residents and visitors will feel welcomed as soon as they arrive.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The project is nearly complete, with crews expected to finish installation in the next few days.<\/p>\n
