Buzette set to take over Cheez-It Citrus Bowl<\/p>\n
CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas \u2014 What started as a cheer camp opportunity has turned into a once-in-a-lifetime experience for Flour Bluff High School student Isabelle Williams, who is proudly representing her school and the Coastal Bend as ‘Buzzette’ at the Cheez-It Citrus Bowl in Florida.<\/p>\n
Isabelle is ready to hit the stage today, along with 50 other mascots, joined by her parents, Anna and Danny Williams.<\/p>\n
\u00a0“The experience is amazing. I never got to do anything like this before,” Isabelle said. “This is one of the first times I actually got to do something for the school out of state, and it’s really incredible.”<\/p>\n
Isabelle earned her spot after competing for an All-American honor at cheer camp, where she performed a skit that scored high enough to send her to the Citrus Bowl.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Since arriving in Florida, she has spent days rehearsing alongside other mascots from across the country. “It’s about six minutes long, and we’re performing in front of thousands of people,” she said, adding that the excitement has been well worth the 17-hour drive.<\/p>\n
Behind the scenes, Isabelle’s parents have played a huge role in her success. Isabelle’s mother, Anna, redesigned Buzzette’s costume to make it lighter and safer, spending countless late nights sewing and creating themed accessories. “It blows my mind,” Anna said. “Just to have her down here is amazing.”\u00a0<\/p>\n
Danny Williams, a Flour Bluff alumnus, said the experience means everything to their family. “The fact that our daughter gets to represent the community we love\u2014it’s just great.”<\/p>\n
