\t\t\t\t\t\t\tAs the third owners of 1418 Coffee, a business that was established in Plano in 2013, Celina residents LeeAnne and David Bryant not only run the flagship store in Plano, they opened a Prosper location in 2022.<\/p>\n

1418 Coffee is a specialty coffee business which roast beans at a McKinney roastery. In addition to beverages, the business also sells pastries made in a commercial kitchen in Prosper.<\/p>\n

The Bryants purchased 1418 Coffee in 2018. They estimate a Celina location will open in the first half of 2026.<\/p>\n

On the menu<\/p>\n

1418 Coffee sources coffee beans from around the world including Sumatra, El Salvador, Ethiopia and Mexico.<\/p>\n

Top requested drinks include their cortado and cold brew. Local restaurants, including Heyday<\/a> and The Wick<\/a> use 1418 Coffee cold brew in their espresso martinis.<\/p>\n

\u201cOur cold brew is very popular,\u201d Bryant said. \u201cWe let the coffee sit for 14 hours. Every night, they’re getting the next batch of cold brew ready.\u201d<\/p>\n

Specialty lattes\u2014 David Mason and Purple Haze\u2014are also top sellers. The David Mason includes maple and brown sugar while the Purple Haze has lavender and vanilla.<\/p>\n

What else?<\/p>\n

In addition to beverages, food items\u2014which are made in an off-site commercial kitchen in Prosper\u2014are sold at 1418 Coffee. When the Bryants opened the Prosper location, they brought on Lauren Loafman, owner of a local cottage business Sugarloaf Bakery, to run the baked goods department. Loafman\u2019s lemon blueberry scones and Sugar Loaf cinnamon rolls are top sellers.<\/p>\n

The Lucy, which is a chicken salad sandwich, and The Haggard, a sandwich Bryant developed featuring roast beef, pepper jack cheese and spicy horseradish sauce, are also crowd pleasers.<\/p>\n

Although a self-described \u201ccasual coffee drinker\u201d when he bought the business, David Bryant soon became well-versed in what makes 1418 Coffee a specialty coffee shop.<\/p>\n

\u201cThere are different standards for beans that are roasted,\u201d David Bryant said. \u201cThere’s a position called a grader\u2014who works under the authority of the Specialty Coffee Association<\/a>\u2014 who grades the actual green bean at a specific time to be considered a specialty coffee. You have to have a grade of 85 or more so we adhere to that.\u201d<\/p>\n

Going forward<\/p>\n

In addition to opening the Celina location in 2026, the Bryants plan on opening seven more locations within five years bringing their total number of stores to 10. Other growth plans involve scaling their wholesale business, which already distributes coffee and pastries to local hospitals and businesses.<\/p>\n

When Bryant started this new venture, it was on the heels of a corporate sales career. He said not only was he looking to do something different, but he and his wife had another motivation.<\/p>\n
