Texas Tech women\u2019s basketball won its 15th consecutive game 73-55 on Wednesday at the United Supermarkets Arena against the University of Central Florida. The 18-point victory tied the program record for the most consecutive wins.<\/p>\n
After scoring 21 points during the first and second quarters, the Lady Raiders missed 10 field goals and allowed six turnovers in the third quarter.<\/p>\n
Central Florida sophomore guard Leah Harmon scored five points in the final two minutes of the third quarter to outscore Tech 13-11 during the third quarter. Harmon finished the game with 15 points and led Central Florida\u2019s scoring.<\/p>\n
Led by junior guard\/forward Jalynn Bristow\u2019s nine points, Tech regained its momentum during the fourth quarter when it scored 20 points compared to Central Florida’s 14. Bristow led Tech\u2019s scoring and finished the game with 21 total points.<\/p>\n
The Knights generated 20 turnovers against the Lady Raiders and scored nine points off those turnovers. Central Florida made 37 percent of field goal attempts, its third-lowest field goal percentage of the season.<\/p>\n
The Lady Raiders made 20 points off nine turnovers and scored 14 fast-break points throughout the game.<\/p>\n
In its last two games against Jacksonville University and Baylor University, Tech made less than 20 percent of three-point attempts. The Lady Raiders improved this mark to 28 percent against Central Florida but did not go over the 33 percent season average.<\/p>\n
Senior guard Bailey Maupin made two of her four three-point attempts and led Tech in three-point percentage. Bristow was the only other Lady Raider to make two or more three-pointer shots, making three of seven attempts.<\/p>\n
The Lady Raiders will remain in Lubbock to play their third conference game against the University of Arizona at 6 p.m. Saturday.
