EL PASO, TEXAS (KFOX14\/CBS4) \u2014 A 19-year-old El Paso man was arrested over the weekend after a road rage incident led to a shooting, according to the El Paso Police Department. <\/p>\n
The El Paso Police arrested Jair Armando Rodriguez on Dec. 28 and charged him with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. <\/p>\n
According to police, the El Paso Police Department’s Gang Unit assisted in a road rage-related shooting investigation on Dec. 28. <\/p>\n
Officers determined that the incident involved a confrontation between motorists that escalated while the vehicles were in motion. <\/p>\n
According to police, preliminary information indicates that the victim was traveling near the area of 3700 Hueco Valley when Rodriguez engaged in aggressive driving behavior. <\/p>\n
The situation escalated, resulting in a collision and Rodriguez shooting at the victim.<\/p>\n
The victim was then able to flee, and no serious injuries were reported.<\/p>\n
Police said Rodriguez had fled the scene and was later involved in a separate traffic collision, where Rodriguez’s vehicle was found abandoned. <\/p>\n
Through coordinated efforts, officers identified Rodriguez, who was located and taken into custody without incident. <\/p>\n
An arrest warrant was obtained for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, and Rodriguez was booked into the El Paso County Detention Facility on a $20,000 bond. <\/p>\n
