A man died on Wednesday after he was shot in the torso near Lake Como Park in Fort Worth<\/a>, police said. <\/p>\n

Fort Worth police officers responded to a shooting call on Wednesday, Dec. 31, in the 3400 block of Lake Como Drive. When police arrived, they saw an unidentified man on a walking bridge with gunshot wounds to his torso, according to a press release. <\/p>\n

The identity of the man was not immediately disclosed, but the Tarrant County medical examiner\u2019s office plans to release that information at a later time, according to investigators.<\/p>\n

Medical personnel rendered aid on scene; however, the victim did not survive his injuries and was pronounced deceased, the police statement said.<\/p>\n

Investigators found that before the shooting, the male victim and a female suspect, who were previously involved in a dating relationship, were engaged in a verbal and physical altercation on the walking bridge, the release states. <\/p>\n

Before the shooting, the female was allegedly assaulted and asked witnesses to call 911, police said. <\/p>\n

The suspect was detained by police and taken to a hospital to be treated for injuries she sustained during the altercation, officials said.<\/p>\n
