Falfurrias police say ATF and the CCPD bomb squad are investigating after pipe bombs exploded inside a building near East Highway 285.<\/p>\n

CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas \u2014 Falfurrias police are searching for a suspect after two pipe bombs exploded inside a funeral home under construction, causing minor damage, according to Chief of Police William Barton.<\/p>\n

Barton told 3NEWS officers responded to the scene near East Highway 285 and Best Street after workers arrived at the building and discovered damage. The funeral home is not yet open to the public.<\/p>\n

Barton said authorities do not know when the explosions occurred. He said the building\u2019s front doors did not yet have handles, making it accessible.<\/p>\n

The Corpus Christi Police Department Bomb Squad and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives are on scene collecting evidence and attempting to recover fingerprints, Barton said.<\/p>\n

\u201cThere are minor damages to the walls, but that\u2019s about it,\u201d Barton said, adding that the devices appeared to be made from PVC plumbing pipe.<\/p>\n

Barton said investigators believe whoever made the devices had some level of training.<\/p>\n

\u201cSomebody taught them,\u201d he said. \u201cWe\u2019re letting ATF and the bomb squad do their thing.\u201d<\/p>\n

Police said there is no immediate danger to the public.<\/p>\n

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Falfurrias Police Departmen<\/a>t at 361-325-5041, Brooks County Dispatch, or submit a tip through Falfurrias PD\u2019s social media pages<\/a>. Tips can be submitted anonymously.<\/p>\n

Multiple agencies are assisting with the investigation, including the ATF, CCPD Bomb Squad, Brooks County Sheriff\u2019s Office and the Falfurrias Police Department, Barton said.<\/p>\n
