{"id":111420,"date":"2026-01-05T15:53:12","date_gmt":"2026-01-05T15:53:12","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-tx\/111420\/"},"modified":"2026-01-05T15:53:12","modified_gmt":"2026-01-05T15:53:12","slug":"txdot-begins-work-on-u-s-62-82-from-lubbock-to-ropesville","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-tx\/111420\/","title":{"rendered":"TxDot begins work on U.S. 62\/82 from Lubbock to Ropesville"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"text | article-text\">LUBBOCK, Texas (KCBD) &#8211; The Texas Department of Transportation has started a project to make safety improvements to almost 13 miles of U.S. 62\/82, from 73rd Street in Lubbock to the city of Ropesville.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">According to TxDot, workers will install cable median barriers along the US 62\/82 corridor in Lubbock and Hockley counties and is expected to enhance the overall safety of the roadway.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">To increase safety and reduce traffic conflict points, the project will also remove a crossover along the project limits. <\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">Officials say highway traffic will see various shoulder and inside lane closures throughout the project\u2019s duration.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">Motorists are advised to drive with caution when entering the work zone, slow down, pay attention and watch out for workers and equipment.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">The project\u2019s completion date is scheduled for December of 2026.<\/p>\n<p class=\"copyright |\">Copyright 2026 KCBD.
