CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas \u2014 A 19-year-old Odem ISD student has been arrested following an investigation into an alleged sexual assault that occurred aboard a district school bus returning from an event in Hebbronville.<\/p>\n

According to the San Patricio County Sheriff\u2019s Office, the incident happened Dec. 9, while students were riding an Odem ISD bus back to Odem. Deputies said a juvenile student was assaulted during the trip.<\/p>\n

The Sheriff\u2019s Office was notified of the incident on Dec. 12.. Investigators conducted a forensic interview with the juvenile victim and collected evidence during the investigation.<\/p>\n

Officials said the investigation established sufficient probable cause to arrest Christopher Jacob Soto.<\/p>\n

Soto, 19, an Odem ISD student, was arrested and charged with indecency with a child, a second-degree felony.<\/p>\n

Due to the age of the victim and the nature of the charge, officials said no additional details are being released. The investigation remains ongoing.<\/p>\n
