The El Paso Police\u2019s Special Traffic Investigation unit was called out to take over the investigation.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">The preliminary investigation revealed that Torres had jumped out of a window of a moving vehicle, causing her to strike her head, police said.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">Torres was transported to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries, and on Saturday, Jan. 3, she died as a result of her injuries.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">Police say this is the 62nd traffic fatality for 2025 compared to 68 in 2024.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">The incident is still under investigation, police said.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">Copyright 2026 Nexstar Media, Inc.
