HARRIS COUNTY, Texas – A woman has been charged in connection with a large apartment fire that occurred in Sheldon on Monday morning.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Harris County apartment fire: Woman charged with reckless arson following large apartment fire\u00a0 <\/p>\n

According to the Harris County Fire Marshal PIO Brandi Dumas, the Sheldon Fire Department were called out to a fire.\u00a0<\/p>\n

When investigators arrived, they learned there was a domestic disturbance which led to a woman burning her boyfriend’s clothes in a barbecue pit on a balcony.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Officials said the woman attempted to put out the fire and thought she had.\u00a0<\/p>\n

However, officials said the fire rekindled and got into the attic and spread to other apartments.\u00a0<\/p>\n

In all, 13 apartments were damaged from fire, smoke or water.\u00a0<\/p>\n

There was also a collapse that occurred from the second floor to the first floor.\u00a0<\/p>\n

No injuries were reported.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The woman was charged with reckless arson.<\/p>\n

She was also taken to the hospital for unknown reasons.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Later in the day, a firefighter was injured while battling a hotspot that rekindled. The firefighter is said to be in stable condition at the hospital.\u00a0<\/p>\n
