EL PASO, TEXAS (KFOX14\/CBS4) \u2014 Three men in Horizon were arrested on various charges last week after a traffic stop led to the discovery of narcotics, according to the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office. <\/p>\n
According to police, on Jan. 2, deputies from the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office attempted a traffic stop on a black Lexus at the 14800 block of Horizon Blvd. <\/p>\n
The driver, identified as 33-year-old Benjamin Gallardo, failed to yield, prompting a pursuit that ended at the 700 block of Karl Drive. <\/p>\n
With assistance from the Horizon Police Department and Texas Department of Public Safety troopers, deputies conducted a felony stop.<\/p>\n
According to police, both Gallardo and his passenger, 19-year-old Noah Ezekiel Vargas, were uncooperative, leading to the deployment of a Taser 7 to safely apprehend Gallardo. <\/p>\n
During the incident, police said 34-year-old Juan Antonio Gallardo, a homeowner from a nearby residence, interfered with deputies, leading to his arrest. <\/p>\n
Police said that all three men were taken into custody without further incident.<\/p>\n
Deputies discovered that Benjamin Gallardo had an outstanding warrant for theft of property valued between $2,500 and $30,000, while Vargas had a warrant for possession of a controlled substance in a drug-free zone. <\/p>\n
According to police, narcotics were also found in the vehicle. <\/p>\n
The men were booked into the El Paso County Detention Facility. <\/p>\n
Benjamin Gallardo faces charges of evading arrest with a vehicle, possession of a controlled substance, and theft, with a bond set at $27,500. <\/p>\n
Vargas is charged with possession of a controlled substance in a drug-free zone, with a $1,000 bond. <\/p>\n
Juan Antonio Gallardo is charged with interference with public duties, also with a $1,000 bond.<\/p>\n
