1.\u00a0State of Texas to start audit, investigation of childcare facilities<\/a><\/p>\n

The office of Gov. Greg Abbott has published\u00a0a press release\u00a0saying that the state of Texas will be auditing childcare facilities.<\/p>\n

The audit, which is under the Texas Workforce Commission (TWC) and Health and Human Services Commission (HHSC), will be conducting routine audits of providers and in-person site visits, according to the release. The release also mentions the alleged improper payment rates of childcare facilities in Minnesota.<\/p>\n

Shares of major U.S. companies in the energy sector are sharply higher Monday after\u00a0President Donald Trump announced plans\u00a0to take control of Venezuela\u2019s oil industry, saying that it would be American companies helping to revitalize it following the\u00a0capture of President Nicol\u00e1s Maduro.<\/p>\n

The Texas Tech Lady Raiders basketball team is making history with its newest signee.<\/p>\n

Stephanie Okechukwu, a 7-foot-1 center, is the tallest\u00a0player in women’s college basketball history, according to a release from the\u00a0university’s sports website.\u00a0Okechukwu comes to Lubbock from\u00a0Umunneochi, Nigeria after attending high school in Kyoto, Japan.\u00a0<\/p>\n

North Texas to utilize AI for 911 calls during World Cup matches<\/a><\/p>\n

Major transportation funding is heading to North Texas as the region prepares to host the FIFA World Cup, with part of the investment aimed at improving 911 emergency response through artificial intelligence-powered language translation technology.<\/p>\n
