{"id":113225,"date":"2026-01-06T21:28:07","date_gmt":"2026-01-06T21:28:07","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-tx\/113225\/"},"modified":"2026-01-06T21:28:07","modified_gmt":"2026-01-06T21:28:07","slug":"burn-ban-extended-for-unincorporated-travis-county-through-feb-10","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-tx\/113225\/","title":{"rendered":"Burn ban extended for unincorporated Travis County through Feb. 10"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\tA <a href=\"https:\/\/communityimpact.com\/austin\/north-central-austin\/government\/2025\/12\/30\/burn-ban-in-effect-for-unincorporated-travis-county-through-jan-6\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">recent burn ban<\/a> for the unincorporated areas of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.traviscountytx.gov\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Travis County<\/a>\u2014areas <a href=\"https:\/\/communityimpact.com\/lake-travis-westlake\/city-county\/2018\/11\/14\/wide-open-suburbia-the-pros-and-cons-of-living-in-unincorporated-communities-in-western-travis-county\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">outside of any specific city<\/a>\u2014was recently extended to remain in effect until Feb. 10, according to a news release from the county.<\/p>\n<p>The burn ban had been put into effect on Dec. 29 and originally was slated to end on Jan. 6, as <a href=\"https:\/\/communityimpact.com\/austin\/north-central-austin\/government\/2025\/12\/30\/burn-ban-in-effect-for-unincorporated-travis-county-through-jan-6\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">previously reported<\/a> by Community Impact.<\/p>\n<p>The details<\/p>\n<p>The burn ban was extended due to continuing dry conditions. The ban applies to outdoor burning in unincorporated areas of Travis County, but does not include prescribed burns, outdoor welding, cutting, grinding or other hot work operations when conducted in accordance with the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.traviscountytx.gov\/fire-marshal\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Travis County Fire Marshal\u2019s Office<\/a> guidelines.<\/p>\n<p>Also of note<\/p>\n<p>The Travis County Fire Marshal\u2019s Office is also urging residents to:<\/p>\n<p>Use caution when grilling or barbecuing outdoors. Residents should keep a water source or fire extinguisher nearby when doing so.Avoid the use of leftover fireworks from the recent holiday.
