Plano\u2019s Amber Glenn is back in action with a shot at the Olympics.<\/p>\n

The 26-year-old will compete in the U.S. Figure Skating Championships in St. Louis and has her sights set on a third straight gold medal in the women\u2019s event. The event in St. Louis is the last competition before the Milan Cortina Winter Olympic Games as Glenn tries to qualify for the U.S. Olympic team for the first time.<\/p>\n

Glenn had a unique rise to the top of the sport, winning the U.S. junior title at age 14 and the ISU Grand Prix Final at 25.<\/p>\n

Glenn was named an alternate for the U.S. Olympic team at the 2022 Winter Olympics after having to withdraw halfway through that year\u2019s U.S. Championships due to a positive COVID-19 test<\/a>. The next year, she suffered a severe concussion, broke her orbital bone and dealt with brain damage, she said in an interview with PEOPLE Magazine<\/a>.<\/p>\n

She bounced back and has been on a tear recently. Since 2023, she has claimed consecutive U.S. titles, the Grand Prix Final, five Grand Prix Series medals and finished in the top five at the World Championships.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019ve had my ups and downs, many downs, and luckily the last year and a half it\u2019s been a pretty upward trajectory,\u201d she said to Olympics.com<\/a> of her time since finishing fifth at the 2025 World Championships<\/a>.\u00a0\u201cI gained so much experience from having the successes and triumphs… and then [that] defeat that was really hard. I\u2019ve learned a lot from that experience.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n

The next step for the highly decorated figure skater is securing a spot on her country\u2019s team for the Winter Games.<\/p>\n
