{"id":113946,"date":"2026-01-07T09:50:08","date_gmt":"2026-01-07T09:50:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-tx\/113946\/"},"modified":"2026-01-07T09:50:08","modified_gmt":"2026-01-07T09:50:08","slug":"el-paso-muralist-showcases-unexpected-pedestrians-in-cultural-center-exhibit","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-tx\/113946\/","title":{"rendered":"El Paso muralist showcases &#8220;Unexpected Pedestrians&#8221; in cultural center exhibit"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>EL PASO, Texas (KTEP) &#8211; Muralist Citlali Delgado&#8217;s artwork portrays the people, neighborhoods and imagery of the border to explore representation in her first solo-show at the Mexican American Cultural Center. <\/p>\n<p>Her artwork is both posted along the walls of the cultural center&#8217;s second-floor show room and hangs from the ceiling. Delgado invites viewers to interact with a large visual purple and green piece that is cut into strips in the middle of the room. <\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Keep in mind what representation means to you,&#8221; Delgado said. &#8220;When thinking about yourself, or thinking about where we live, what region we&#8217;re from and things you see in the media that doesn&#8217;t really represent you&#8230;all these paintings, I want them to be representations that we can be anyone we want.&#8221; <\/p>\n<p>Delgado&#8217;s exhibit will be on display at the cultural center until February 15. Visitors can view her work during the cultural center&#8217;s operating hours. <\/p>\n<p>Soon, Delgado will take her art on the road to Austin, Tennessee and Iowa for various art residencies.
