Longtime Northeast San Antonio favorite Biff Buzby\u2019s Burgers flipped its last homemade beef patty at year\u2019s end, the restaurant\u2019s owner revealed in a Facebook post.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The online post called the decision to close a difficult one made \u201cwith incredibly heavy hearts\u201d after months of thought and conversation. The restaurant, 12702 Toepperwein Road #130, was known for towering burgers served on sourdough buns and for hosting Friday-night classic car shows. <\/p>\n

\u201cFor 25 years, this place has been so much more than a burger joint,\u201d reads the Facebook statement, which describes Biff Buzby\u2019s as a gathering place and second home where families celebrated milestones, watched kids grow and created memories that spanned generations.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Biff Buzby\u2019s opened in 1999, when married founders Donna and Ron Humphreys turned their love of burgers and homestyle cooking into a business venture. <\/p>\n

Since then, loyal customers sustained the restaurant by showing up \u201cday after day, year after year,\u201d according to the Facebook post. Indeed, Ron Humphreys kept the business operating even after Donna died 2019.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The restaurant launched a satellite location, Biff Buzby\u2019s Backyard, at \u00a02769 Nacogdoches Road, in early 2024. However, that eatery closed in about a year\u2019s time. <\/p>\n

The recent Facebook post expressed gratitude to past and present staff and to everyone who in stop in for burgers, conversation and connection.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cBecause of you, these walls hold 25 years of stories, friendships, and unforgettable moments,\u201d the post adds.<\/p>\n
